Raising the Bar

I started to watch this new series today called Raising the Bar starrring Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Jerry Kellerman. If you aren't sure, Mark-Paul played Zack from Saved by the Bell. It is a typical lawyer show. The main actors are from either the DA's office or the Public Defendor's Office.

In the scene, lawyer's from both sides are at a bar "letting off some steam". Mark-Paul's character is upset that the two sides can be so cavalier about the goings on of the day.

********
Jerry: How can you fight against each other by day and drink beers with each other by night?
Marcus: We go way back. We've all been friends a long time. But this is just business. It's not personal.
Jerry: How can you say that? It is nothing if not personal.
Marcus: Come on, Man. Chill out.
********
In my estimation, this is a classic Thinking (T) versus Feeling (F) dilemma. The thinkers see the situation as separate from themselves. Where as the the feeler doesn't. Neither is wrong obviously...just different.

Labor Day "Observation"

I was watching the TV show The Real Estate Pros over the weekend and had to laugh. On this episode, Richard Davis, the President of Trademark Properties, said something that gave me insight into his type. He was trying to pick out paint colors for a historic-type home his company is flipping in Georgetown, South Carolina.

******

I make my best decisions when the pressure is on. I know I have time now so I can't make the decision. So let's give it some time until we really need to get the job done and I'll decide then.

******

If I had to guess, I'd say Richard is a Perceiver(P). If you follow the series, it is very interesting how he imposes virtually impossible deadlines on every job he does because he knows that he'll do his personal best.

I don't know about you but I am a Judger(J) and just watching him makes me crazy (in a good way). On almost every other house flipping show you watch, it takes months to get houses flipped. Not Richard's team. He creates deadlines of 1 to 2 weeks all the time. I guess he knows what will work...and of course what will make him the most money fast.

Myers Briggs #1

Hi there, I'm new to the this whole blog so forgive me if this is super corny.

I wanted to create a blog to share my every day observations of type...Myers Briggs(R) type is.

I am certified in the Myers Briggs(R) type indicator. I think it is a very valuable tool and embrace the knowledge to the best of my ability. I am an ENTJ. ENTJ's are knows as "the drivers". For me this means that I have an intense drive to get things done. I want to start and finish what I do and when something gets in the way I do whatever I can. Nothing lascivious or illegal mind you. I just use whatever skills I have in my "bag of tricks" to clear barriers.

Love to hear from you.
